The Peaceful Kingdom Comes to Lakewood Ranch

Learning to be peacemakers comes naturally to most children, and the young people at Peace Presbyterian in Lakewood Ranch are learning that it’s also fun to get along with one another, with their siblings and with people who may be a different breed of cat, so to speak.

On Sunday, August 24 at 11:00 am, the children will present their summer musical The Peaceful Kingdom by Michael Marion. Under the guidance of director of music Gia Havener, more than a dozen children will sing and dance their way through this musical parable about Shalom. The children have been practicing weekly to learn the songs in the show and to recreate the opening scene which replicates Edward Hicks’ painting The Peaceable Kingdom.

-$26,000 and 350 volunteer hours to mission:

- Extra Emphasis on Weekly Food Donations for Beth el Mission as need has increased.
- Rebuilding homes in Arcadia - helping build 6 new homes.
-Helping to build homes in Sarasota and Manatee Counties with Habitat for Humanity.
- Sponsorship of athletic teams at Lakewood Ranch YMCA .
- Mothers' Day Food Collection for "All Faiths Food Bank".
- Participating in Family Promise (Shelter for homeless families) with food and personnel.
- Cash and Household Items for Family of Five, Who Lost Their Home to Fire.
